Matahum Nga Cebu

anything related to bands and music we discuss. from lyric writing to guitars to groupies. the show is three months old now. so far it’s getting nice feedback. people who used to sneer at smash are now tuning in (at least on wednesdays), some grudgingly – but it’s a good start dude.

we invite guests to act as “experts” on the topic at hand. so far we have invited the following people who practice what they preach: ian zafra, jude gitamondoc, brian sacro, rommel tuico, jay eugenio, edz estrella.

the show is called BANDA-BANDA 101, every wednesday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at SMASH 93.1.

It has been only a month since we started with the program. and we’re enjoying it so far (i hope the listeners too). after two sessions of familiarizing ourselves with the show, we invited our first guest last week, rommel tuico of stagecrew (in foto, from lokalpulse.blogspot.com).

he’s currently promoting his all-bisaya solo album called ’smells like urban max’, which i think is a play on Nirvana’s ’smells like teen spirit’ and the name of one of Cebu’s music icons, ‘max surban.’ (include here ‘urban myx’ if you like.)

Bag-o ni nga experience nako. i’m doing a radio show with dj ram sa Smash Fm every wednesday, 9 am to 12 noon. in between bisaya rock songs we talk about what’s going on in cebu’s art scene, especially sa music. but ang main purpose gyud sa show is to give listeners tips on songwriting, recording and related stuff. i’m enjoying it so far.
