‘Istorya Musika’ sa Smash

stagecrew1

It has been only a month since we started with the program. and we’re enjoying it so far (i hope the listeners too). after two sessions of familiarizing ourselves with the show, we invited our first guest last week, rommel tuico of stagecrew (in foto, from lokalpulse.blogspot.com).

he’s currently promoting his all-bisaya solo album called ‘smells like urban max’, which i think is a play on Nirvana’s ‘smells like teen spirit’ and the name of one of Cebu’s music icons, ‘max surban.’ (include here ‘urban myx’ if you like.)

Bag-o ni nga experience nako. i’m doing a radio show with dj ram sa Smash Fm every wednesday, 9 am to 12 noon. in between bisaya rock songs we talk about what’s going on in cebu’s art scene, especially sa music. but ang main purpose gyud sa show is to give listeners tips on songwriting, recording and related stuff. i’m enjoying it so far.

and i end the show with this extro:

“DILI KAMI EKSPERTO, NAGPAAMBIT LANG SA AMONG GAMAYNG NAHIBALOAN”

tune in sa Smash every wednesday, 93.1 sa dial sa inyong mga radyo. yey, anawnsir na ko. hehe :)

Ruel Antipuesto shooting Missing Filemon's "Sinesine" music video

Ruel Antipuesto shooting Missing Filemon's "Sinesine" music video

After the successful “First Tsinelas Songwriting Workshop” last May 8, 9 and 10, Tsinelas is organizing another workshop, this time on how to make a music video. The “First Tsinelas Music Video Workshop” is tentatively scheduled on the second week of July.  It will be a two-day stay-in seminar. Tsinelas will announce the venue and other details once everything is set.

To handle the workshop is Ruel Antipuesto.

Like all seminars and events organized by Tsinelas, proceeds of the music video workshop will be used to help the organization’s beneficiaries in Cebu’s mountain barangays.

The seminar will cover these five general topics: orientation on the tools needed; fundamentals of planning, shooting and editing; basic workflow and techniques; common problems and how to avoid them; and exploring alternative technology.

For reservation and more info, contact the secretariat at 0922 8243800 or 0926 7325355, or send email to insoymada@gmail.com

About Ruel:

RUEL ANTIPUESTO always wanted to study film, but since time and money never got together, he just took the plunge. He made so many mistakes along the way that he ended up teaching in a film school. He won the grand prize in the 2006 Sinulog video documentary competition, and was cinematographer on the award-winning short, Carpool. He also directed, together with Jerrold Tarog, the multi-awarded film Confessional.  (philippineartscene.blogspot.com)

paraluman

– Paraluman’s legendary status in Philippine showbusiness merited her an inclusion in the lyrics of Ang Huling El Bimbo, one of the most popular songs of Filipino rock band Eraserheads. –

Songwriting workshop

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

songwritingWe’re organizing a songwriting seminar-workshop to raise funds for TSINELAS. It’s going to be held this coming May. It’s going to be a four-day (two weekends) event to be held at the Tsinelas headquarters at the Saint Theresa’s College compound along Gen. Maxilom Ave.

We’re going to talk about the basics of melody writing, lyrics writing, musical arrangement and recording.

Award-winning musicians and recording artists Ian Zafra, Jude Gitamondoc and Brian Sacro have initially agreed to join us as speakers. I also invited myself as speaker, and myself said yes  (haha).
